Identification

At check-in you must provide your booking number and the flight’s GL number and you must also show valid ID.

If you are a resident in Greenland, valid identification consists of the following documents that have been issued by the authorities:

  • Passport
  • Driving licence
  • Cpr No. (social security) card
  • Birth certificate
  • Certificate of residency
  • Discharge book

ID cards issued by employers are not valid identification, neither are credit cards, student cards etc.

Children and infants must also have identification at check-in. Acceptable forms of identification are a passport issued to the child, a birth certificate or a certificate of residency.

If you are travelling onwards from Copenhagen to a Nordic country you do not need a passport, but you must have an acceptable form of identification.

For other countries you need a passport and remember, from October 1st 2004 all children are required to have their own passport.

Contact you travel agent for more information, or contact Air Greenland. Danish citizens who travel to Greenland must show valid identification in the form of driving licence, social security card or passport.
